What it is
A public authority layer for websites
VerifiedDR exists because authority numbers are only useful when people can understand what supports them. A site can look strong in a backlink tool while still lacking the traffic, source diversity, or trust evidence that makes that strength credible.
The public index connects those signals in one place. Website profiles show classic authority data beside TrueDR, traffic signals, backlink evidence, founder context, and verification status, so a visitor can judge whether the authority looks earned.
VerifiedDR is not trying to replace every SEO metric. It adds the trust context those metrics need before people rely on them.
Method
TrueDR checks whether visible authority has evidence behind it
The core score is TrueDR. It starts from authority data, then looks for signals that make a backlink profile more or less credible: referring-domain breadth, follow-link breadth, traffic validation, recent link changes, spam patterns, and owner verification.
The method is deliberately evidence-first. A high raw backlink number should not be treated the same way when the supporting traffic, source quality, or growth pattern does not hold up.

Sources and standards
Search quality and link quality are separate questions
Domain Rating is useful, but it can be misunderstood when it is read as proof of all-around trust. Ahrefs describes DR as a backlink-profile strength metric on a 100-point scale, not a complete trust score.
The product sits near established search and link-quality sources, including Ahrefs' Domain Rating documentation and Google Search spam policies. Those references help explain why link strength, traffic, and manipulation risk are separate questions.
VerifiedDR does not claim access to private search ranking systems. It publishes a practical, independent score from public and owner-provided evidence so authority claims can be checked.

Frequently asked questions
What is VerifiedDR?
VerifiedDR is a public authority index for websites. It compares Domain Rating with real traffic, backlink quality, spam risk, and ownership verification so builders can see whether authority signals are trustworthy.
Who builds VerifiedDR?
VerifiedDR is built by Thijs Smudde. The product is operated through verifieddr.com and exposes public website authority data, owner verification, a CLI, and an API.
Is TrueDR a replacement for Domain Rating?
No. TrueDR is a companion score. Domain Rating is a backlink-profile metric, while TrueDR discounts inflated authority signals when traffic, backlink breadth, or trust evidence does not support the raw score.
