Method

TrueDR checks whether visible authority has evidence behind it

The core score is TrueDR, a trust-adjusted companion to classic Domain Rating. It starts from the backlink profile, then checks whether the evidence around it holds up: referring-domain breadth, follow-link breadth, traffic validation, recent link changes, spam patterns, and owner verification.

A backlink profile assembled from spam networks or link schemes can still show a high classic DR. TrueDR discounts what the evidence doesn't support, so faked authority stops looking identical to earned authority. Site owners see the full per-signal breakdown in the dashboard and through the CLI.

Measuring authority is step one. The product's real job is the loop that follows: measure, find opportunities, prioritize, act, verify, repeat.

VerifiedDR looks for growth opportunities across every authority channel it measures: verified partnership matches, lost backlinks worth recovering, spam links that need review, keywords where your authority can already compete with the live top 10, pages Google is excluding from its index, competitor gaps, and the sources AI engines cite when they answer questions in your category.

Opportunities become prioritized Authority Growth actions, each with the evidence behind it. Where an action has external consequences, like sending a partnership request, VerifiedDR drafts the outreach and waits for your explicit approval before anything is sent. The same loop is available to AI agents through the agent workflows, the API, and the vdr CLI.

Sources and standards

Search quality and link quality are separate questions

Domain Rating is useful, but it's often misread as proof of all-around trust. Ahrefs describes DR as a backlink-profile strength metric on a 100-point scale, not a complete trust score.

The method sits near established search and link-quality sources, including Ahrefs' Domain Rating documentation and Google Search spam policies. Those references explain why link strength, traffic, and manipulation risk deserve separate answers.

VerifiedDR doesn't claim access to private search ranking systems. It publishes a practical, independent score from public and owner-provided evidence so authority claims can be checked.
