Domain Rating vs Domain Authority

Domain Rating (DR) and Domain Authority (DA) both score a site's links. Each provider uses its own data and rules. This can give one site two different scores. Google uses its own systems. Compare sites with one score at a time. TrueDR adds a check for trust and traffic.

The trust check: why this DR checker also shows TrueDR

DR scores the strength of a site's links. TrueDR checks whether trust and traffic support that score. It gives less weight to spam signs. A site with DR 70 and TrueDR 40 has a wide trust gap. A site with a higher TrueDR has more trust behind its links. Read how the score works on the TrueDR page.

Common questions

What is Domain Rating?

Domain Rating (DR) is a 0 to 100 score for backlink strength. It looks at how many sites link to a website and how strong those sites are. The scale gets harder as the score rises. A move from DR 70 to 75 takes far more link strength than a move from DR 20 to 25.

Is domain rank the same as Domain Rating?

Yes. People use domain rank, domain rating, website authority score, and DR for the same idea. Each term points to a 0 to 100 estimate of backlink strength. This checker shows DR and TrueDR. TrueDR checks the score against trust data.

What is a good Domain Rating?

The answer depends on your market. DR 0 to 20 fits a new or small site. DR 21 to 40 is growing. DR 41 to 60 is established. DR 61 to 80 is strong. Major sites often score 81 or more. Compare your DR with the sites you face in search.

Is Domain Rating the same as Domain Authority?

No. Domain Rating (DR) and Domain Authority (DA) are competing metrics from different providers, computed from different link indexes with different formulas. They usually land in a similar range for the same site but can diverge a lot. Neither is used by Google; both are third-party estimates of backlink strength.

Why does this checker also show TrueDR?

DR measures backlink strength, so it can be inflated by spam links, link schemes, and pages nobody visits. TrueDR is VerifiedDR's trust-adjusted score. It starts with DR, checks it against traffic and trust evidence, and discounts spam and manipulation. When TrueDR sits far below DR, the headline score is thinner than it looks.

Is this Domain Rating checker free?

Yes. You can look up DR and TrueDR for any site in the index for free. You can also add your site, compare two websites, and view a Trust Map. Paid plans add keyword tracking, outreach, and DR Growth plans.

Can I check Domain Rating for multiple sites at once?

The web checker looks up one website at a time. For batches, the vdr CLI and the REST API return DR, TrueDR, and trust data as JSON on paid plans, which suits scripts, dashboards, and agents. The Chrome extension checks sites as you browse, with already-listed websites free and a small monthly meter for new ones.

How do I increase my Domain Rating?

Earn links from relevant sites with real traffic. Good sources include trusted directories, partners, customers, and useful content. The DR Growth workspace finds strong sites that fit your audience. It turns your backlink gap into tasks.
