Keyword Difficulty Checker: Can Your Site Rank?
Know whether a search term fits your website. Compare your Domain Rating (DR) with the sites in Google's top 10. Then choose whether to write the page or earn stronger links first.
How the check works
Live top 10
See the ten pages Google ranks for this search term.
DR per result
See the DR for each site. The middle score shows the usual bar. The lowest score shows whether a smaller site can rank.
Your verdict
Compare your DR with the bar. The result tells you to write, build links or save the term for later.
Reading the result
The middle DR in the top 10 gives you a clear bar. If that score is 40 and yours is 45, write the page. If that score is 65 and yours is 30, earn stronger links first. You can build trusted backlinks.
The lowest DR also helps. A site with DR 20 in position 8 shows that a good match can beat a larger site. Check any rival with the free domain rating checker.

Keyword difficulty tool FAQ
What is a keyword difficulty tool?
A keyword difficulty tool shows how hard it may be to rank for a search term. This tool checks Google's top 10 results. It finds the middle DR score and compares it with your DR. A score near or above that mark gives you a good chance. A lower score points to a backlink gap.
Is this keyword difficulty check free?
Yes. After email verification, one check per keyword and website is free. You get Google's live top 10, the median and minimum DR, your own DR and gap, a verdict, and the top results with their DR. Saved keyword tracking, search volume, CPC, trend data, and suggestions are part of Pro.
How is DR-based difficulty different from other difficulty scores?
Many tools blend several signals into one score. This tool asks one clear question: does your site meet the DR level in Google's top 10? A DR 45 site can target a result page with a middle DR of 40. A DR 15 site has a backlink gap to close first.
What is a good DR gap for targeting a keyword?
At or above the median top-10 DR, the keyword is winnable on backlink strength and worth writing for now. Up to about 10 points below the median, it is a stretch: possible with a strong, specific page, especially if the minimum DR in the top 10 is low. More than 10 points below, build trusted backlinks first and keep the keyword for later.
Why does the minimum DR in the top 10 matter?
The minimum DR shows whether a lower-DR page is already competing. If the minimum is 20 while the median is 60, relevance may have created an opening worth investigating. If even the minimum is 55, backlink strength is a more consistent feature of the current top 10.
How many keywords can I check?
The free tool runs one email-verified check per keyword and website. Free VerifiedDR accounts also get 3 keyword checks per month inside the dashboard. Pro tracks up to 20 saved keywords per site with weekly snapshots, search volume, CPC, trend, opportunity-sorted suggestions, and competitor gap keywords.
